We’re looking for a copywriter to fill out our team of food lovers — must be comfortable writing 
copy for digital experiences, social channels, articles, in-store signage and more. This role will sit on our creative team — the writers, designers and thinkers responsible for turning strategy briefs into the customer-facing cool stuff that builds brand love and drives our business. Responsibilities: 

  • Create tight, compelling headlines for in-store signage, digital banner ads and various paid media assets 
  • Write clear, informative promotional copy for digital sales flyers, radio scripts and emails 
  • Turn technical concepts into customer-friendly communications for Amazon services in Whole Foods Market stores and online  
  • Ideate and write editorial content for a compelling customer experience on Whole Foods Market’s online store on Amazon.com 
  • Collaborate with social media designer and social media team to create seasonally relevant Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest content 
  • Collaborate with digital editor and marketing program managers to write compelling, click-y long-form copy for articles that incorporate consumer insights and SEO data 
  • Collaborate with editors and proofreaders to edit digital and printed materials for accuracy, spelling, grammar and adherence to AP Style/WFM Content Style Guide and our Quality Standards 
  • Concept with designers during the creative process on photo selection, design and overall strength of each asset to ensure a strong finished product 
  • Present work to Creative Director, Design Director and Editorial Director for review and approval 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, advertising or related field 
  • 3+ years of experience in a brand content marketing or agency copywriting role 
  • A portfolio showing off your best work creating content for a brand 
  • Must have the ability to quickly research and build a knowledge base on a variety of food and wellness topics, and create the context necessary for communicating that information clearly to customers 
  • Food and beverage writing and/or culinary experience strongly preferred but not required 
  • Must be comfortable presenting work to executive-level leadership 
  • Must be comfortable working in a highly collaborative creative environment where ideas will be challenged and feedback given 
  • Must have a commitment to a positive, problem-solving, solutions-oriented attitude, while having fun and inviting innovation 
  • Be all in on our culture, brand values and mission of nourishing people and the planet 
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and handle confidential information 
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency 
  • Familiarity with digital editing/proofing and project management software such as ProofHQ, Workfront and Opal a plus 
  • Must love snacking
