OVERVIEW

Homes.com (a subsidiary of CoStar Group) is a growing marketplace, reimagining the home search experience for consumers and agents alike. We are reimaging the Homes.com Network to efficiently connect buyers, sellers, and their agents. This includes giving agents innovative tools for growing their business and collaborating with their clients, as well as connecting interested buyers directly to the listing agent. 'Your Listing. Your Lead.' is at the heart of everything we do.

CoStar Group has 20+ years' experience in leading digital marketplaces. We are looking to add experienced copy editors to our staff to help build world class content to best inform consumers when they are looking for their next location to call home.

The Copy Editor will provide assistance with Homes.com narrative content, text, images, and other marketing materials. The Copy Editor will also be responsible to ensure we are providing consumers with consistent quality and feature narratives. Furthermore, they will be responsible for the collaboration with multiple teams of writers, designers, and marketing professionals across the company.

This position will play a key role with both the oversight and development of Homes.com products. The Copy Editor will understand the need for collaboration and teamwork ranging across multiple businesses within CoStar, providing detailed feedback and communication.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Review Homes.com narrative content on neighborhoods, parks, schools and condominium buildings, reviewing text, images, videos and embedded content
  • Edit copy for content, accuracy, and continuity; as well as for style, grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Write compelling, SEO-friendly headlines; crafting concise, accurate captions
  • Collaborate with other Homes team members to ensure consistency of style
  • Develop standards and best practices for Homes content creation

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business or related degree
  • 3+ Years' experience in Copy Editing, Content Writing, and Copy Revision
  • Excellent writing skills; writing samples must be provided
  • 2+ Years' experience in AP Style of writing

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Residential or Commercial real estate or travel narrative experience preferred
  • Ability to work under deadlines without compromising editorial standards, thriving in a fast-paced, deadline driven atmosphere
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
  • Experience in team setting and collaboration with a wide range of professionals
