Content Manager - Job Description

The Content Manager is responsible for overseeing the creation of multiple forms of content to enhance Medical Solutions' brand, reputation and viability both with its traveling clinician customer and health care facility client bases, and to achieve our business goals. Reporting into the Director of Corporate Communications, this position's duties include leading a team of content professionals, creating and executing against content strategies consistent with our brand platform, voice and value proposition to highlight the company's offerings and services, as well as reviewing competitor content and market trends to identify new content strategies and ideas.

We are looking for the candidate who possesses the ability to think both creatively and analytically and is comfortable finding creative ways of building an online presence as well as using analytics in the formulation of a content strategy. Here, content is defined as multimedia articles, blog posts, images or videos that aid in fostering engagement online. As the content manager's daily responsibilities will include writing as well as leading and managing a content team, the combination of creativity and leadership skills are essential to this role.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop cross-platform content strategy aligned with short-term and long-term marketing objectives and targets.
  • Manage content across all platforms, including print, digital display, and email. Collaborate with social media team as needed for social media content development.
  • Partner with social media team to continue building our following on social media.
  • Lead and manage a team of senior and junior content specialists. Oversee content production team's creation and management of targeted content.
  • Provide editorial, creative, and technical oversight and support to team members.
  • Maintain a marketing content calendar that schedules all aspects of content creation and delivery throughout the year.
  • Research and source content for our company's website.
  • Write, edit and proofread content as needed.
  • Monitor the competition's content strategy and efforts, staying abreast of industry current best practices.
  • Research and use target keywords to write search-engine copy that is optimized for SEO while also remaining entertaining and informative.
  • Brainstorm within Marketing as well as with company cross-functional team members to develop new ideas.
  • Use content management systems to analyze website traffic and user engagement metrics
  • Track web analytics to ascertain content engagement levels.
Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English or related field.
  • 3-4 years agency experience or in a similar role.
  • Ability to conceive fresh and appealing ideas for new content that establishes or supports the company's brand identity.
  • Strong experience in creating original content that targets specific audiences and meeting company's objectives.
  • Adept at keyword placement and SEO best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly computer literate and advanced knowledge of HTML.
  • Proficiency with popular content management systems.
  • Experience with social media management.
  • Creativity and the ability to develop original content.
  • Ability to develop content that provokes engagement.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
