Job Summary:

We believe our teachers deserve a delightful, impactful experience that makes it worth their time when interacting with our professional development content. We are searching for a Content Developer with flexible/creative thinking, a love for learning, and an appreciation for the technology that can drive meaningful experiences. The Content Developer reports directly to the Supervisor of Teacher Professional Development and works closely with the entire Education Content team. This role is responsible for developing innovative resources with a strong DEI approach that inspires and empowers KCLC's teachers across all brands, for teachers of infants through elementary age children. The Content Developer will need the flexibility to cross over from teacher training resources to curriculum resources as needed to create inclusive, world-class learning experiences that set the bar for early learning programs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Listen to the needs of the field and generate innovative ideas, concepts, and solutions in response to field needs
  • Develop and write creative, high-quality, inclusive educational resources and trainings according to project needs, timelines, and specifications
  • Follow the established department style guide for all written copy
  • Ensure all developed, written content is copyedited and clean prior to posting on our teacher platform or sending to the printer
  • Attend meetings with other departments when participating on cross-functional projects
  • Represent the Educational Content team on corporate-level initiatives as needed
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to increase skills and innovative thinking
  • Meet with Teacher Professional Development Supervisor weekly to touch base and report on timelines and the status of deliverables



Qualifications

Key desired skills and experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Instructional Design, or related field of study; Master's degree preferred
  • Strong written communication and copywriting skills with a command of writing conventions and the ability to self-edit
  • The ability to concept, develop, and write resources for a variety of audiences (e.g., families, teachers, field leaders, industry leaders)
  • The ability to concept, develop, and write resources for a variety of purposes (e.g., curriculum activities for children, professional development and training for teachers, family facing communication and activities)
  • Teaching experience in a group care or classroom setting and the ability to integrate that experience into the brainstorming and writing process
  • Expertise in adult learning principles and curriculum design strategies-STEM background is a plus
  • Expertise in diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in action across resources developed
  • Experience or willing to learn different methods of delivery (e.g., face-to-face, online interactive training, videos/animations)
  • Experience or willing to learn different technology platforms to deliver digital content to teachers (e.g., LMS's, Articulate, Captivate, etc.)
