We're looking for an experienced senior writer / editor to support the continued development and delivery of the policies and procedures used every day by 40K+ branch employees in more than 5000+ branches across the United States. This individual will join an established team of writers and will work with subject matter experts to write, deliver and manage online content using a defined style guide and established processes under stringent timelines. In addition to writing, the Senior Associate will be responsible for assisting with special projects and proofreading, editing and leading other writers in delivering a consistent voice and tone.
Core Responsibilities:

  • Set the tone to lead writers in delivering a consistent voice and tone; assist in editing and copyediting all content
  • Optimize and edit content for uniformity, grammar, information architecture and adherence to established standards
  • Understand content development needs with the support of subject matter experts to capture key revision requirements
  • Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content with a focus on clear, concise, and easy-to-understand updates appropriate for different audiences (from front-line to executive)
  • Establish and manage working relationships to routinely interface with subject matter experts, writers, First Line of Defense, controls, project managers, and others
  • Prepare content for publication according to established processes and standards


Requirements:

  • 6+ years of proven writing, editing, information architecture and basic graphic design/layout skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in relevant field preferred (e.g. Technical Writing, Communications, English)
  • Excellent editing and copyediting skills and the ability to deliver edits to writers clearly and instructively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to work with senior management
  • Understanding of branch banking processes preferred
  • Ability to make complex terminology / processes banker-friendly and engaging
  • Experience with various writing styles - including executive, sales/behavioral, feature and recognition writing
  • Team player who can build strong cross-business relationships
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with a structured / analytical approach to problem solving
  • Comfortable with fast-moving deadlines and can balance multiple projects
  • Self-motivated individual that demonstrates initiative with proven flexibility, adaptability, and reliability
