*This role can be remote or in our office at either our Charlotte, North Carolina or New York locations*

The Points Guy is looking for an Associate Web Publisher to support the editorial team in a wide variety of initiatives. Your work will entail a great deal of collaboration with content, engineering, and photo/design teams. You will be responsible for executing tasks that require excellent technical familiarity with our custom Wordpress-based CMS, combined with editorial instincts that develop over time. The person in this role is also instrumental in process improvement. We are looking for a hard-working, meticulous individual who can meet tight deadlines and calmly manage urgent requests. Ideal candidates can adapt quickly; handle multiple projects at once; and collaborate with content, web development, and marketing teams.  

What You’ll Do:

• Utilizing our customized, Wordpress-based CMS, build templated individual articles and more complex programs and pages. Occasionally work with custom HTML content.

• Collaborate with teammates and prioritize daily tasks and projects to ensure high-quality, on-deadline deliverables to all stakeholders.

• Input meta descriptions.

• Perform routine or bulk actions such as redirects and simple webpage setup or editing.

• Collect and resize web images via stock photo sites and media/newsroom libraries.

• Check published pieces for errors.

• Troubleshoot minor site errors.

• Work with representatives of other departments.

What We're Looking For:

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Experience with basic HTML and working in content management systems, especially WordPress.

• Good knowledge of HTML and/or Markup (coding links, text formatting, tables, and lists).

• Basic image skills (renaming, resizing, cropping, and uploading).

• Familiarity with Google sheets and docs.

• Familiarity with collaborative project management tools (e.g. Asana, Slack).

• A candidate who is patient and curious.

• A candidate who values relationship building and maintenance and true desire to help others.

• Strong writing background (web copy experience is a plus).

• Basic SEO knowledge.
