What You'll Bring

Required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (chemical, civil, or structural preferred) OR degree in Occupational Health, Safety, or Industrial Hygiene. Equivalent experience (8+ years) considered.
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in heavy construction, demolition, or remediation project execution.
  • Strong initiative, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 75% fieldwork on three-week rotations).
  • Ability to pass background and drug screening.
  • Commitment to strict Health & Safety protocols.
  • This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Preferred

  • Experience in health & safety leadership within industrial or construction environments.
  • Familiarity with hazardous material handling, confined space, and emergency preparedness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and assist with DDD projects, including scope development, contractor work plan reviews, cost estimates, and progress documentation.
  • Review contractor submittals (RFIs, clarifications, change orders) for compliance with project specifications.
  • Support site investigations and sampling for hazardous materials.
  • Serve as Field Safety Officer, preparing site-specific Health & Safety Plans, conducting daily safety briefings, and maintaining safety records.
  • Schedule and manage on-site staff, evaluate subcontractor performance, and assist with change order negotiations.
  • Communicate with project teams to ensure alignment with plans and specifications.
  • Support business development through proposal preparation and client meetings.
  • Conduct behavior-based safety observations and incident investigations.
  • Maintain required certifications and training, including:
    • ERM Field Safety Officer Training
    • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER & 8-hour Supervisor
    • CPR/First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens
    • Confined Space & Excavation Awareness
    • Emergency Preparedness, Hazard Recognition
    • Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
