What Your Impact Is
- Drive the planning and execution of decommissioning, decontamination, and demolition (DDD) projects for major industrial clients.
- Champion health and safety leadership on-site, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
- Influence project outcomes through strategic planning, contractor oversight, and technical problem-solving.
- Support ERM’s mission to create a cleaner, safer world—one project at a time.
What You'll Bring
Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (chemical, civil, or structural preferred) OR degree in Occupational Health, Safety, or Industrial Hygiene. Equivalent experience (8+ years) considered.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in heavy construction, demolition, or remediation project execution.
- Strong initiative, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively (up to 75% fieldwork on three-week rotations).
- Ability to pass background and drug screening.
- Commitment to strict Health & Safety protocols.

Preferred
- Experience in health & safety leadership within industrial or construction environments.
- Familiarity with hazardous material handling, confined space, and emergency preparedness.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and assist with DDD projects, including scope development, contractor work plan reviews, cost estimates, and progress documentation.
- Review contractor submittals (RFIs, clarifications, change orders) for compliance with project specifications.
- Support site investigations and sampling for hazardous materials.
- Serve as Field Safety Officer, preparing site-specific Health & Safety Plans, conducting daily safety briefings, and maintaining safety records.
- Schedule and manage on-site staff, evaluate subcontractor performance, and assist with change order negotiations.
- Communicate with project teams to ensure alignment with plans and specifications.
- Support business development through proposal preparation and client meetings.
- Conduct behavior-based safety observations and incident investigations.
- Maintain required certifications and training, including:
- ERM Field Safety Officer Training
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER & 8-hour Supervisor
- CPR/First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens
- Confined Space & Excavation Awareness
- Emergency Preparedness, Hazard Recognition
- Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
