The opportunity.
Quantexa is seeking an experienced Compliance Project Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract to support the ongoing development and enhancement of our compliance framework. As the business continues to grow and evolve, so too does the complexity and scope of our compliance obligations. This role is critical in ensuring that we proactively address these challenges and maintain a robust, effective compliance posture. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing and coordinating key compliance initiatives, helping Quantexa meet immediate priorities arising from recent investor engagements and strategic objectives.
This position sits within the Chief Operating Officer (COO) function and offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of compliance, governance, and operational excellence. As part of the COO team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the delivery of multiple, concurrent compliance workstreams. The role is designed as an interim solution to provide structure and leadership during this important phase, bridging the gap until a permanent Head of Compliance is appointed to lead and own the global compliance function. Your contribution will help establish a solid foundation that will enable long-term compliance success and support the company’s continued expansion.
What you’ll be doing.
- Compliance Programme Development and Delivery: Design, implement, and drive a comprehensive compliance enhancement programme tailored to our expanding operations. Coordinate investor-aligned actions across all internal workstreams, including due diligence, sanctions screening, vendor and partner assessments, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Programme Continuity: Establish a structured foundation with clear documentation, enabling the incoming Head of Compliance to assume ownership confidently and maintain continuity of the compliance programme.
- Compliance Risk Assessments and Mitigation planning: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential compliance gaps and vulnerabilities. Develop and execute effective strategies to mitigate risks and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Policy and Procedure Management: Assist in developing, formalising, and maintaining clear, practical compliance policies, procedures, and standards. Collaborate closely with other business functions to integrate their compliance responsibilities seamlessly and embed into daily operational processes.
- Governance and Reporting: Support the design, implementation, and continual alignment of compliance-related governance frameworks and reporting structures. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure compliance maturity, programme effectiveness, and progress against organisational, investor, and regulatory commitments.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with Legal, People, Operations, Finance, Information Security, and other key stakeholders and sponsors to ensure transparency, consistency, and auditability of compliance processes across the organisation.
- Training and Awareness: Identify, develop, and oversee compliance training and awareness programmes to ensure employees at all levels understand their obligations and the critical importance of compliance within their daily roles.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Establish robust monitoring systems to track compliance performance, analyse key metrics, and report findings to senior leadership.
- Regulatory Intelligence and Adaptation: Stay informed of changes in relevant laws and regulations, adapting the compliance framework proactively to meet evolving requirements.
- Audit Coordination and Continuous Improvement: Work with internal teams and coordinate internal and external compliance audits from various requirements. Evaluate the effectiveness of the compliance programme and implement necessary enhancements.
What you’ll bring.
- Experience: A minimum of Ten years’ experience in compliance project management, ideally within the technology scale up sectors. Demonstrated success in establishing or scaling compliance programmes in dynamic, fast-paced, and rapidly evolving environments.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Good understanding of relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices across multiple jurisdictions. Proven ability to interpret and apply complex regulations to business operations effectively.
- Communication and Collaboration: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership, legal teams, operational departments, and external partners.
- Project Management: Strong project management capabilities, with a meticulous attention to detail and a track record of driving complex, multi-stream projects to successful completion within tight deadlines. Ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing demands efficiently.
- Certifications: Possession of relevant professional certifications such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), or equivalent credentials is highly desirable and will be considered an advantage.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Proven analytical skills with the ability to identify compliance risks and develop practical solutions. A proactive approach to continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
- Adaptability: Ability to operate effectively in a fast-changing environment, demonstrating resilience, flexibility, and a proactive mindset to address emerging compliance challenges.
