The Position

The Opportunity

This role presents a unique opportunity to drive compliance excellence in support of Roche Diagnostics Africa's ambitious 10x strategy, contributing to sustainable growth and ethical excellence across the region.

The Compliance officer for Roche Diagnostics Africa (DIA) in the Francophone West & Central Africa (FWCA) Network is a pivotal role responsible for managing high-complexity compliance activities within the assigned affiliate in the designated division.

This role encompasses evaluating existing and evolving healthcare and privacy compliance, ethics, and related legislation and regulations.

Reporting directly to the General Manager in Côte d’Ivoire with a matrixed functional reporting line to the the Director of Legal, Compliance and Risk - Africa, this role will involve establishing and implementing the Compliance program in Côte d’ivoire, while also contributing to the development and implementation of compliance strategies across the network markets.

The Compliance lead will ensure alignment with Roche's global compliance standards and provide legal cover while also adhering to local laws and regulations.

Main Responsibilities

- Spreading awareness of Roche's Code of Conduct and Roche’s Compliance culture through regular employee training and awareness sessions.

- Conducting the anti-bribery compliance program applicable to the Export Markets and defining the implementation of anti-bribery prevention and detection policies, controls, and best practices.

- Performing distributor compliance training, due diligence, controls, and audits

- Leading the internal Risk and Opportunities program, including reporting and tracking of key activities in the internal CARISMA tool or other internal tools

- Enhancing a compliance culture within the FWCAN market and providing guidance on compliance matters.

- Providing operational support to business teams in the deployment of strategic projects, including identifying and mitigating risks.

- Reporting to the governing body on the implementation and effectiveness of the compliance program.

- Contributing to internal investigations of suspected non-compliant behaviors, including conducting interviews, desk reviews, and recommending disciplinary measures in case of non-compliance with the Code of Conduct.

- Assisting in the investigation of cases that may be subject to internal or government audit.

- Collaborating with the Africa Sub-Region Compliance Team on transversal projects to support the achievement of the 10-year strategy.

- Updating monitoring tools (dashboards, trackers, databases)

- As part of the FWCA Leadership Team, promote and support the achievement of the Network’s goals and ambitions

Who you are?

Required Education and Experience

- Lawyer Degree and/or a Business Degree

- Possess a deep understanding of compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements, particularly in pharmaceutical/diagnostics or life sciences sectors. - Demonstrated ability to analyze and mitigate compliance risks effectively.

- Experience in the healthcare industry is advantageous

- Business Experience is advantageous

Required Competencies and Skills:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, honed through audit fieldwork and risk analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective liaison with stakeholders and departmental level interactions.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in distributor management frameworks and experience in evaluating and monitoring corrective actions.
- Excellent training skills for conducting compliance training sessions.
