This is a unique opportunity to join the UK Insurance Executive team and lead a large, high-performing technology function. You’ll set the direction for technology strategy, guide major change programmes and make sure everything we do is safe, secure and ready for the future.
Key Responsibilities
As Chief Information Officer UK Insurance, you’ll:
- Lead the UK Insurance Technology function, making sure it supports business goals and delivers great outcomes for customers
- Define and deliver a clear technology strategy, architecture and roadmap aligned to Bupa’s wider strategy
- Drive large-scale technology and business transformation, including new ways of working such as agile (a flexible, iterative approach to delivery)
- Oversee the delivery of technology programmes, making sure projects are on time, within budget and achieve the expected benefits
- Work closely with senior leaders across the business to prioritise and deliver key initiatives
- Create a strong, open culture that encourages continuous improvement and supports teams to do their best work
- Build strong relationships with partners and suppliers to support delivery and innovation
- Take full responsibility for technology budgets, performance and value for money
- Make sure risks are managed well, including information security, operational resilience and regulatory compliance
- Lead, develop and inspire senior leaders and teams, building capability for the future
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an experienced and thoughtful leader who brings both strategic thinking and practical delivery.
You’ll have:
- Proven experience leading technology and transformation in a complex, regulated environment (ideally financial services or insurance)
- A strong track record of delivering large-scale change and measurable business results
- Experience shaping and delivering business and technology strategy
- The ability to build strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills, with experience developing high-performing teams
- Commercial awareness, including managing budgets and delivering value
- Confidence working across risk, governance and regulatory requirements
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas in a simple way
- A collaborative, open approach and a focus on delivering the right outcomes
