Precision Combustion, Inc (PCI) is a growing technology company whose mission is to develop new technologies and products for clean energy.  We have a proven technical and business team with skills in fuel reforming, solid oxide fuel cells, sorption, power generation, air revitalization, catalytic combustion, and novel specialty applications working to develop solutions for business and government customers.


Role and responsibilities

As a key member of our business development team, interacting with our technology team, you will help lead government, military, and related business development from new technology and product creation, through product planning and development, and into successful market entry.  You will create and win new funding opportunities through both government (SBIR, STTR, BAA, etc.) and industrial (R&D contacts, JDA, license agreements, etc.)  channels, and into scale-up.  You will have complete support from across the PCI team.  The ideal candidate should have experience collaborating cross-functionally with team members and senior management to strengthen current business and create new opportunities.  You will also have a balance of strategic and tactical experience with the ability to drive seamless execution. 


Requirements
  • BS degree in engineering/science is required; minor in marketing/business or an MBA is a plus.  Other requirements:
  • Strong interest and experience selling and evolving technology concepts before they become products, together with insights into both civilian and military markets and applications.
  • Business development experience along with a successful track record in tech development and commercialization of new technology products, with experience in energy, power generation, environmental, chemicals processing, automotive, and/or aerospace helpful.  Military program sales and prior U.S. security clearance a plus.
  • The ability to win funding for new product development programs and projects is required, through both formal proposals and direct program sales skill.
  • Technology business development experience in an industrial or university setting.
  • Experience in negotiating and closing business agreements (NDA, MOUs, MOAs, JDA, contracts).
  • Strong communication, writing and collaboration skills.
  • Must have a balance of strategic and tactical abilities with experience influencing others, thinking outside the box, making sound decisions, and solving problems.
  • Forward thinking with an active eye towards the future.
