As a Business Analyst in an agile Product based delivery environment, you are passionate about business analysis, delivery, collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.

You will be a part of a self-organizing agile squad that includes a Product Owner, developers and quality assurance team members who are responsible for delivering value to our clients. Your specific contributions include understanding the clients and their needs, facilitating the discussion and documentation of requirements, approaches, specifications and decision variables to achieve the product delivery goals. Have the technical knowledge to configure low cod/no code system like Microsoft Power Platform.

Who you'll work with

In this dynamic role, you will report to the Product Engineering Leader, teamwork will be the key to your success as you work with other functional teams including: Product Owner, Software Developers, Quality Assurance, Application Managers, and external vendor consultants on a dynamic portfolio of Products and Features. You will work in a defined Product team to deliver business value through defined outcomes.

This role is for a hands-on contributor who collaborates with team members to deliver value to partners while building your domain knowledge and experience in solving business problems.

What you'll do
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner and team to understand and execute on the Product delivery goals

  • Understand the agile development process and have a familiarity with requirements techniques such as user stories, use cases and/or value modelling, value stream mapping etc.(as primary requirements techniques)

  • Engage business clients to elicit business requirements and understand the outcomes clients would like to achieve; work with business and solution teams to ensure that solutions being delivered meet their business intent and provide business value

  • Identify internal and external data sources and delivers data mapping specifications and or data workspaces to support applications and reports

  • Works with Product team(s), Data & Analytics group, vendors and business partners, when needed, to assess data availability/suitability

  • Detail the flow and transformation of data from sources through data repositories/warehouses to end user datamarts/applications

  • Assist in providing effective business context, solution knowledge, artifact transfer to Support teams as part of progressing delivery to Production

  • Work with Development and QA teams to develop test scenarios and ensure they understand the business requirements and can test solutions appropriately

  • Produce business analysis related documentation, including requirements, current and future state processes and workflows, report specifications and other s to high quality standards

  • Store and maintain business requirements documentation in a centralized location and provide delivery team with the detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Support the initiation and planning of the project, including facilitating the definition of objectives, scope, and deliverables, ensuring the project is set up for success.

  • Capture and implement business requirement on low code/no code systems, like Microsoft Power Platform and Power BI.

What you'll need
  • University degree or equivalent experience (Business/Finance, Financial Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering)

  • Asset would be any of the following: CFA, CBAP or process improvement methodology accreditation

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in one or more of the following roles: Business Analyst or Business Consultant, Product/Application Support or Data Analyst

  • Knowledge of institutional investment products including: Exchange-traded products, Derivatives and/or Private and Alternative Investments

  • Experience in planning or participating in “client acceptance” sessions (i.e. UAT or Sprint Reviews)

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Strong knowledge of investment life cycle with emphasis on workflows and processes

  • Experience with and understanding of leading practices in business analysis, project management and process improvement

  • Forward thinker with the ability to adapt to changing requirements, tasks and solutioning

  • Experience collaborating with product-oriented delivery and technology teams to deliver solutions that address business problems and provide business value

  • Demonstrable understanding of techniques and tools pertaining to the (SDLC) planning, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of technology solutions

  • Robust understanding of agile and waterfall delivery methodologies and the difference between needs and wants

  • Knowledge of Corporate Affairs and Compliance is an asset (i.e. Position Limit Monitoring, Substantial Shareholder Disclosure, Tax, etc)

  • Data Management and database knowledge, using PL/SQL (e.g. Oracle, Snowflake, MS SQL)

  • Experience with the following technologies is an asset: Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, Excel Power Pivot, Python, Charles River, Bloomberg Terminal, SimCorp Dimension, Jira.

  • Experience working with AI agents.

What we’re offering

Pay-for-performance with base salary and annual incentive based on individual and enterprise performance. The Base Salary range for this level is as follows: $105,000 - $155,000. Individual compensation and placement of this role in the range is based on different factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, demonstrated competencies, and internal equity as they relate to the role.
