Job Summary

GP seeks a Campaign Director, Brazil to identify, design, and deliver winning communication and advocacy campaigns that accelerate Brazil’s clean-energy transition and reduce national greenhouse-gas emissions. You’ll pair sharp policy/regulatory awareness with creative, data-driven communications to drive public support for solutions such as utility-scale wind/solar, transmission build-out, storage, rooftop solar, electrified transport, and regenerative agriculture—while countering misinformation and unlocking practical policy wins at federal, state, and municipal levels.

Reporting to the Global Marketing Director, you’ll lead strategy, research, campaign execution, and partnership-building—working across GP’s campaigns, communications, research, and partnerships teams, alongside Brazilian NGOs, community leaders, industry, and policymakers.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Research
  • Map the highest-leverage campaign opportunities across Brazil’s clean-energy landscape; prioritize by impact, feasibility, timing, and coalition strength.
  • Translate complex policy/regulatory topics into clear, public-facing narratives and playbooks that equip teams and partners to act.
  • Build issue briefs and testing plans (message frames, audiences, creative angles) to guide creative development and media strategy.

Policy & Regulatory Analysis (Brazil)

  • Track relevant policies, regulations, and proceedings (e.g., federal ministries and agencies; ANEEL/ONS/ANEPP processes; state environmental licensing; municipal zoning) that enable or impede renewable deployment, electrification, and regenerative agriculture.
  • Identify decision-makers, timelines, public consultations, and pressure/opportunity pathways that campaigns can influence.
  • Provide timely analysis to inform campaign choices, rapid response, and stakeholder outreach.
Campaign Design & Execution
  • Architect and run integrated campaigns (digital + on-the-ground) tailored to Brazilian audiences and regional contexts; test and optimize creative and media for reach, persuasion, and action-taking.
  • Stand up rapid-response efforts around news cycles and key policy windows; deploy creator/influencer collaborations where impactful.
  • Define goals, KPIs, and learning agendas; ensure rigorous measurement, reporting, and iteration.
Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships
  • Build and maintain relationships with Brazilian climate/energy NGOs, community leaders, researchers, developers, trade groups, and public officials.
  • Convene coalitions to promote pro-development, pro-community solutions; proactively address local concerns and misinformation.
  • Represent GP at events, public forums, and media opportunities.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
  • Align campaign goals with organizational strategy; mentor staff/contractors; manage vendors and partners.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and learnings to leadership, board, funders, and coalitions.
  • Uphold GP’s values of equity, inclusion, and excellence in all external and internal work.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • 7–10+ years leading campaigns at the intersection of renewable energy, climate advocacy, and/or strategic communications in Brazil (e.g., clean-energy developer, NGO, public affairs, agency, or policy environment).
  • Demonstrated ability to identify winnable campaign opportunities and convert policy/regulatory insight into public-facing narratives and actions.
Ideally, from the renewable energy sector and/or with a strong network among Brazilian climate nonprofits and sector stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of Brazil’s policy, political, and regulatory context for energy, environment, and infrastructure across federal/state/municipal levels.
  • Proven record designing and executing data-driven communications (message testing, creative iteration, performance tracking).
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills; ability to simplify complex topics for broad audiences.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English. Bonus points for Spanish fluency.
  • Comfort with productivity and analytics tools (Google Workspace; social and ads platforms; dashboards/CRMs; AI-assisted research).
  • Willingness to travel frequently within Brazil and occasionally international travel for convenings and partner meetings. Willingness to work irregular hours as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Background in measurement & evaluation (quant/qual), A/B testing, and attribution.
Experience collaborating with developers, utilities, or regulators on siting, permitting, and community engagement.
  • Spanish proficiency; familiarity with LATAM energy dynamics.
  • Experience working with rural and underserved communities.
