Wallpaper’s Commercial Advertising Sales Team is looking for a Bespoke Advertising Director to lead its Creative Solutions team within one of the most iconic and influential design and lifestyle brands in the world. As the Bespoke Advertising Director for Wallpaper, you will have the exciting opportunity to shape the future of a brand that is synonymous with creativity, innovation, and luxury. 

Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will play a key role in driving the growth and success of our commercial initiatives, working with a talented and dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll be doing...

As the Bespoke Advertising Director for Wallpaper, you will be at the forefront of shaping and delivering creative, branded content strategies that resonate with the brand’s discerning audience and premium client base. With a deep understanding of Wallpaper’s heritage and its global reputation for excellence in design, architecture, art, and lifestyle, you will ensure all commercial initiatives align seamlessly with the brand’s ethos.

A key member of the leadership team, you will collaborate closely with the Commercial Director, Managing Director, and other cross-functional leaders. Building strong relationships with editorial, ad ops, and central creative solutions teams, you will act as a bridge between the brand’s creative vision and its commercial goals.

Your role will focus on inspiring and leading a high-performing creative team to develop innovative, tailored solutions for clients, and championing creative excellence across;

  • Branded content 
  • Social media and influencer marketing
  • Events, and experiential activations
  • Video and audio storytelling
  • Book design and publishing 

You will combine strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, mentoring your team to achieve best in class creative execution and revenue targets, while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. By leveraging Wallpaper’s iconic status and client relationships, you will drive new opportunities and develop scalable ideas to diversify revenue streams and elevate the brand’s market presence.

Specifically, you will be responsible for;

  • Developing a comprehensive CS strategy to drive Wallpaper's advertising revenue growth across digital, print, and branded content solutions
  • Tracking and managing the team’s performance to consistently meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals.
  • Setting and delivering the CS budget number
  • Providing strategic oversight of the CS team, assisting with senior-level meetings, RFPs, brainstorms, media plans, campaign execution, troubleshooting, and offering historical insights on accounts. Delivering exceptional client service, ensuring any issues are swiftly resolved with a high level of care.
  • Engaging proactively with senior-level clients and agencies, developing deep relationships that ensure ongoing success and new business development.
  • Work on pricing and rate card strategies for new products, ensuring they align with market trends and client needs.

Experience that puts you ahead of the curve...

  • Experience in the luxury advertising market is highly preferable, with a strong understanding of the unique demands and expectations of premium clients and audiences.
  • Proven experience in a senior commercial role, with a strong track record of driving and growing strategic, long-term revenue and profitability.
  • Deep understanding of premium brands and their audiences, ideally with experience working in design, lifestyle, or adjacent markets.
  • Expertise across a broad range of sales functions, including branded content, events, partnerships, video, audio, social, influencers, and digital advertising.
  • Strategic leadership skills with the ability to assess the wider media landscape and work cross-functionally to maximise revenue opportunities and achieve organisational goals.
  • Demonstrated success in creating and executing fully integrated marketing plans for high-value deals (£100k+).
  • Experience building, scaling, and managing teams within a matrix organisation, with a vision to grow and develop the team over the coming years.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and connect persuasively with diverse audiences, including senior stakeholders and key clients.
