Role Description 

We are looking to recruit Treasury Transformation candidates with deep knowledge of the domain into our growing Financial Crime, Risk, Regulation and Finance (FRRF) capability. You will have strong change management experience and a background in financial services.

You will be involved in advising clients and delivering transformation across the Treasury functions of our clients, in support of the Group Treasurer/Head of Markets Treasury, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and Assets Liability Committee (ALCO). 

The type of projects we cover are:

  • Treasury strategy and operating models, including Balance sheet management, capital and liquidity optimisation strategies, Interest rate risk in the banking book (IRRBB), Internal capital adequacy assessment process (ICAAP), Internal liquidity adequacy assessment process (ILAAP), Recovery and Resolution Planning (RRP), Resolvability assessment framework (RAF).
  • Implementation of regulatory changes e.g. Basel, Solvency II, PRA, FCA, EBA
  • Treasury and shared services / outsourcing.
  • Treasury organisation design, implementation, regulatory reporting and change.
  • Treasury function process improvement including digital process modelling, automation and AI.
  • Benchmarking the Treasury function practices against peers and regulatory standards.
  • Treasury IT strategy - including embedding applicable digital technologies (i.e treasury system and cloud adoption).

 Skills and Expertise

  • Treasury qualification or equivalent (CFA, FRM, BTRM, ACT, CIMA, ACCA, ACA) (desirable)
  • Demonstrate understanding and experience of advising on and implementing regulations such as Basel, Solvency II, GDPR, FCA, PRA and EBA.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of treasury processes and reporting, for example: capital management/ICAAP, liquidity management/ILAAP, fund transfer pricing, scenario planning and stress testing, IRRBB, balance sheet management and optimisation, RRP, RAF, trading wind down.
  • Demonstrate understanding of treasury metrics, for example Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR), Net Stable Funding Ratio (NSFR), Capital ratios, asset encumbrance, leverage ratio, Net interest income (NII), Economic Value of Equity (EVE) and Recovery options.
  • Experience of delivering transformation projects within treasury functions, either as a consultant or as part of an in-house change-delivery team. This could be treasury technology projects (e.g., Treasury reporting implementations), right-shoring or other operating model transformations or treasury process improvements.
  • Good understanding of the role of the Treasury function within financial services organisations, including all aspects of the treasury operating model (people, data, technology).
  • Understanding the impact of the relationship between treasury and other functions such as finance, risk and compliance.
  • Experience of working with the C-Suite - CFO, Group Treasurer, CDO community (desirable).

 PM / BA skills

  • Experience in managing change projects, including treasury/ regulatory transformation, resource management, budgeting, communications and governance.
  • Understanding of the project lifecycle from requirements through to implementation
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work with stakeholders across all business functions to define requirements.
  • Ability to work with technology partners to translate these requirements into functional and technical design.
  • Experienced at running workshops to drive discussions, gather requirements and mitigate risks with users and senior stakeholders
  • Appreciation of business and technical architecture from a treasury perspective.
  • Knowledge of formal project management methods e.g., Agile, PMI, Prince 2 (desirable)

For senior level candidates

  • Mentor and coach other members of the team.
  • Solution development, showing a clear ability as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to enhance existing propositions, and develop new ones.
  • People management, building a team of consultants with the right mix of grades, skills and experience to support client opportunities and projected growth.
  • Develop, drive and convert a pipeline of opportunities and lead on RFP responses.
  • Fulfil a key role in account and proposition development within Market Domains and Key Client Accounts, assisting senior management to increase revenue.
  • Formulate propositions and solutions that meet client requirements in addition to managing and directing pursuit activity.
  • Strong bid management abilities, with a proven ability to mentor and train Consultants.
  • Drive thought leadership and client campaigns
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships within the sector, leveraging proven industry content and delivery capability.
