The team covers a broad scope of ESG services and advisory projects. As an Associate, you can expect to work on different types of client projects, ranging from ESG reporting services (e.g. GRESB, CSRD and SFDR) to carbon accounting or the development of strategic decarbonization plans. You’ll be working alongside our consultants and will be responsible to manage client projects and deliverables accordingly.
As an Associate, you are a key point of contact for our clients and will manage timelines, quality and budget of projects. Our Sustainability and ESG team is distributed across our different German offices and reports to the Head of Sustainability & ESG Germany. We are embedded within the EMEA ESG Advisory platform and collaborate with our ESG experts in other countries.
Key Responsibilities:
Besides the delivery of revenue-generating consulting projects, we also act as trusted partners for our various Cushman & Wakefield service lines in joint client initiatives (e.g. Capital Markets, Office Agency, Project and Development Services).
- Develop and Implement ESG Strategies: Collaborate with clients to design and implement comprehensive ESG strategies that align with their business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct ESG Assessments: Perform detailed ESG assessments and gap analyses to identify areas for improvement and provide actionable recommendations (e.g. CRREM, heating degree potential, EU Taxonomy)
- ESG Reporting and Disclosure: Assist clients in preparing ESG reports and disclosures in accordance with global standards and frameworks such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, SBTi, GRESB, CSRD/ESRS, etc.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate stakeholder engagement processes, including consultations with investors, regulators, and community groups.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure clients' ESG practices comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Training and Capacity Building: Provide training and capacity-building sessions for clients to enhance their understanding and implementation of ESG principles.
- Market Research and Analysis: Stay updated on the latest ESG trends, regulations, and best practices to provide clients with informed and strategic advice.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Master’s degree in subjects such as environmental science, engineering, sustainability, real estate management or related field.
- Excellent communication skills with experience working in cross-border teams and leading projects to a successful outcome
- Has 6+ years of sustainability project management within real estate experience
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including experience in delivering presentations to clients and their stakeholders – conveying complex technical information to a non-technical audience
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, online software platforms, with the ability to use spreadsheets and data analysis applications. Openness and interest to work with AI tools.
- Fluent German language skills with proficiency in English
