As a Associate Lawyer within our team, you will analyze, amend, and negotiate broker-dealer agreements, provide legal advice on regulatory aspects, and support new product and service initiatives. You will engage with business partners, control areas, and regulators, ensuring compliance and effective risk management. Your expertise will help us respond to regulatory requests and monitor new rules, contributing to the success of our brokerage and portfolio investment activities.
Job Responsibilities:
• Analyzing, amending and negotiating broker-dealer agreements that govern relationships with clients (intermediation, give-up, electronic trades, securities bonds loan, custody);
• Provide legal advice on the regulatory aspects of the brokerage/foreign portfolio investments activities, discussing the matters with the business, control areas and also with the regulators;
• Get involved in the firm's global initiatives that impact direct or indirectly the local brokerage / portfolio investments activities;
• Discuss, propose and draft responses to regulators requests and monitoring routines (BSM or B3's alerts);
• Provide legal advice to derivatives, drafting derivative master agreements (CGDs), helping with the structuring of the transactions and negotiating with external clients;
• Supporting the business on the new products/services initiatives, helping the firm to navigate through the Brazilian complex legal framework along with the JPM policies requirements;
• Monitor, follow up and comment new rules initiatives arising from regulators.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:
• Licensed attorney (OAB) in Brazil, with preferred minimum of 2 years post-qualification legal experience;
• Required expertise/knowledge on financial markets;
• Ability to work in a high-intensity environment;
• Proactive and team oriented with excellent interpersonal and analytical skills;
• Well organized and able to execute responsibilities; ability to prioritize multiple tasks and bring tasks to completion within established timeframes;
• Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written English; and
• Proficient in MS Office (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
