The Role:

As the Associate Director of Digital Technology, you represent the ElevateBio IT department as a member of the BaseCamp Pittsburgh site leadership team.  This role is responsible for supporting the execution of the buildout project in Pittsburg, PA with a focus on IT/OT systems from conceptualization to deployment ensuring operational readiness.  Following site startup, this role will work with cross functional teams to seek system improvements, enhancements, and efficiencies while regularly evaluating future digital solutions fit for the site.  The Associate Director of Digital Technology acts as both the IT Business Relationship Manager (IT BRM) for delivery of IT solutions & services to the site and as the leader for onsite OT staff supporting manufacturing and facility operations.  This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of compliant, life-saving therapies to our patients.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

  • Take ownership of all Digital Technology operations at the site.
  • Incorporate business insight and direction with emerging technology trends to guide decisions addressing stakeholder requirements.
  • Lead the design, implementation, commissioning, qualification (if applicable) and readiness workstreams for on-prem digital infrastructure and systems (e.g. networks, storage, BAS, SCADA).
  • Coordinate delivery and readiness of enterprise platforms by collaborating with internal and external teams (e.g. Cloud Infra, SAP ERP, Apprentice Tempo MES, LIMS, Veeva QMS, etc).
  • Serve as Subject Matter Resource in IT/OT systems. Participates on internal, cross-functional teams to develop and align procedures and standards.
  • Work directly with the Capital Projects’ team and business functional areas during the long-term planning and annual budget development cycle performing cost estimates based on benchmarked-historical data.
  • Ensure a safe work environment during execution of projects by upholding all safety policies and procedures.
  • Directs and manages project execution as defined in the project plans to achieve objectives.
  • Achieve effective financial control through management of project scope and estimates.
  • Define roles and responsibilities to ensure clarity between vendors, integrators, and internal staff deliverables.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology/Science, Engineering, or related fields. MS or MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a site IT/OT leadership role
  • A minimum of 3 years of project management experience, with a focus on IT infrastructure or OT systems deployments
  • 8+ years of experience supporting GxP manufacturing environment
  • Highly functional in a fast-paced dynamic company with the ability to prioritize issues under differing pressures while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to drive alignment with senior stakeholders
  • Experience building teams by blending internal and external resources
  • Technical proficiency & knowledge in most of these areas: IT Network & Power design, Virtual Environments & Storage, Ignition SCADA, Apprentice Tempo, BAS platforms, & ITSM
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products, SAP, MS Project, & Bluebeam Revu
