Associate Consultant
Position Overview
The Associate Consultant, Innovation x Intelligence plays a hybrid role across consulting delivery and firm growth. This individual supports client engagements through rigorous research, analysis, and synthesis, while also contributing to new business development by preparing for client meetings, building proposals, and helping to operationalize systems that drive sustainable growth.
Associate Consultants contribute to both the intellectual rigor of our consulting work and the expansion of our client portfolio through thoughtful preparation, structured follow-up, and scalable proposal development.
As an Associate Consultant, you will support:
Consulting & Client Engagement
- Drive the research and fact-gathering process across engagements
- Analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative findings using appropriate analytical frameworks
- Distill actionable and compelling insights from complex information
- Develop creative, clear, and impactful client-ready presentations
- Effectively communicate conclusions directly to clients
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
- Have direct access to clients and senior-level leadership
- Be supported by an unparalleled group of peers and leaders throughout each engagement
Growth & New Business Development
In addition to core consulting responsibilities, Associates will support and help operationalize the firm’s growth efforts by:
New Business Preparation
- Preparing detailed client profiles ahead of business development meetings
- Developing company and asset backgrounders, including competitive landscape, recent activity, strategic priorities, and potential opportunity areas
- Synthesizing insights to inform meeting strategy and positioning
Post-Meeting Debriefs & Follow-Ups
- Leading structured debriefs following new business meetings
- Translating meeting insights into clear next steps
- Project managing follow-ups across internal stakeholders
- Tracking deliverables, timelines, and ownership to ensure momentum
Proposal Development
- Drafting customized client proposals aligned to identified needs
- Building scopes of work, timelines, workplans, and pricing structures
- Supporting the development of strategic narratives within proposals
Growth Infrastructure
- Building and maintaining a system for tracking new business opportunities, pipeline stages, and revenue forecasting
- Creating processes and documentation to standardize new business workflows
- Developing standardized proposal templates for key consulting offerings and recurring revenue products
- Continuously refining growth materials to improve efficiency, clarity, and win rate
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement at a four-year college or university and 0–2 years of relevant internship or project-based experience in strategy consulting, business development, or related fields.
They are expected to work effectively in teams and bring excellent communication skills, confidence, ownership, and a ‘can-do’ attitude.
Qualifications include:
- Demonstrated success in analyzing and synthesizing information to draw accurate, logical, and actionable conclusions
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Word
- Experience contributing to proposals, client-facing materials, or business development efforts preferred
- Foreign language skills preferred, but not required
Salary: $90,000 base plus bonus eligible
The salary range provided represents what a potential hire may expect to earn in this role at BGB. Actual salary decisions will be influenced by several factors that we use to determine overall fit, including experience (both direct and indirect), education, training, demonstrated qualifications, and organizational need. Salary is only one component of the total rewards package offered at BGB Group.
