ROLE OVERVIEW

You have a clear passion and curiosity for marketing to kids and families. From idea to execution - you collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams to drive the creation of on-brand, engaging experiences via print materials, packaging and product.
Responsibilities:
This role will work closely with Strategists, Account Executives, Art Directors, Copywriters, Production Artists, Industrial Designers and Motion Artists on the conceptualization and execution of Point-of-Purchase materials, packaging, branding and product design. As an integral part of a larger multi-disciplinary team, you will manage and design many aspects of the visual creative product.

  • Work and collaborate with the creative team to develop visual concepts, design systems and products that entice, educate, engage, activate and connect with consumers
  • Support and own the creative process from original concept to final implementation
  • Interpret briefs in order to create designs that are strategically driven and compelling - not just "pretty"
  • Manage and balance multiple jobs and projects daily, meets timelines and expectations, while measuring and improving efficiency
  • Maintain knowledge and skills of creative applications, staying on top of new and evolving technology
  • Think conceptually and strategically to discover the best way to problem-solve for design and technical challenges
  • Be a constant learner, with a passion for actively keeping ahead of the curve and exploring new tools, trends/standard methodologies and styles, as well as advertising and design styles
  • Be a team player to others by collaborating, working hard and always forging ahead


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 1-3 years working as an Associate Art Director (in print, packaging, product)
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Resourceful and solution-oriented; a proactive self-starter and problem-solver
  • Understanding of visual communication and creating a visual hierarchy
  • Skillful in graphic design, including the use of typography, color and design systems
  • Experience aligning work to brand identity/guidelines; understanding of brand collabs/partnerships
  • Ability to quickly ideate and create a branded look & feel for clients
  • Illustration skills are a huge plus, preferably with adaptability to a range of different styles
  • Has critical attention to detail while not missing the big picture
  • Understanding of best-practices for print and packaging
  • Comfortable operating in print workflows, including collaboration with Digital Creatives and Industrial Designers, and flawless turnovers to the Studio team for final deliverables, making file structures and organization a priority
  • Capable of communicating creative ideas and intentions with clarity
  • Ability to collaborate with other Art Directors and Copywriters to implement and deliver fun and engaging print materials that speak to kids and families
  • Can take direction and constructive criticism from seniors and peers
