Job Summary:
As the Assistant Risk Officer within the TDC
Group of Companies, you are expected to communicate the importance and benefits
of risk management, support the implementation of the risk management process,
and monitor risk controls within the Company.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide support in
the preparation of any risk reports to Senior Management, Risk Committee,
Executive Director, the Board of Directors, and the Eastern Caribbean Central
Bank including:
a. The Quarterly Risk
Reports for the TDC Financial Services Co. Ltd, TDC Insurance Co.
Ltd, and the East Caribbean Reinsurance
Company.
b. Report on Action
Plans near due.
2. Assist the ERM
Manager with Risk Committee Secretarial duties including:
a. Sending out online
meeting invites, booking meeting rooms, and making any adjustments as
necessary.
b. Preparing minutes,
within 7 working days of Risk Committee Meetings.
c. Preparing matters
arising report from the Committee Meetings.
d. Printing, scanning,
and filing the signed minutes and meeting agendas.
e. Any other
administrative duties that may be assigned.
3. Prepare and maintain minutes for the ERM Unit
meetings, risk assessments, risk workshops, and any action plan monitoring
activities conducted.
4. Provide support in maintaining an updated risk
register and action plan list by entering risk information/data into Microsoft
Excel and the ERM software, and mapping risks to controls. This includes
sourcing financial and any other relevant information from the Business Units
and entering updates to the key risk indicator database monthly.
5. Maintain professional interaction with line
staff to obtain information for risk assessments and status updates on the
implementation of action plans.
6. Assist in monitoring the effectiveness of risk
controls, including the review of deposit and loan documentation, claim forms,
and any other mitigation measure to ensure the required criteria is met.
7. Maintain open communication with ERM Manager on
findings.
8. Ensure that risk information communicated is
accurate, complete and comply with relevant regulations.
9. Complete all assigned duties within given
deadlines unless an exception is provided.
10. Comply
with ethics code and confidentiality agreements outlined by the Company.
11. Keep
abreast of risk methodologies, practices, and treatments from COSO, ISO 31000,
Basel Capital Framework, and any other relevant standards.
The Assistant Risk Officer may be required to support the
risk management programme at TDC Financial Services Co. Ltd, TDC Insurance Co.
Ltd, East Caribbean Reinsurance Company, TDC Airline Services Ltd, and any
other business unit of the TDC Group.
WORKING
ENVIRONMENT:
• Extended periods of sitting may be required.
• Nearly always work indoors
• Work in climate control offices
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience
• Minimum six (6) CSEC level subjects including
English and Math.
• CAPE Level education inclusive of either
Economics or Accounting.
• Minimum 1 year’s experience working in the field
of Compliance, Risk Management, Audit or Accounting.
• Risk Certification and/or training in ISO 31000
Guidelines would be a plus.
• Commitment to continuous knowledge development
and research regarding rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques,
and performance standards within the relevant industries.

• Have advanced computer skills in MS Office.

Skills Required
