What we are recruiting for:
We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Commercial & Finance Analyst to join our consulting business unit.
Roles & responsibilities:
- Coordinate the monthly commercial review process for the Consulting business. This includes:
- Rolling forward the monthly project commercial reports for the latest actuals.
- Supporting comments and analysis on key variances.
- Arranging commercial review meetings with key stakeholders.
- Monthly alignment of the project commercial report to the CVR forecasting tool with self-review of cost phasing and cashflow forecast.
- Support Project Managers with ad hoc commercial reporting queries.
- Support the Finance Manager with ad hoc reporting and analytical queries.
- Lead on full billing cycle processes. Working with project teams to raise and issue client invoices, reconciling client accounts and co-ordinating the aged debt reporting/collection.
- Lead on the end-to-end payment process. This includes working with the systems team to set up suppliers as well as raising, receipting, and uplifting purchase orders to accommodate timely payment to our suppliers.
- Manage business submissions in line with Framework requirements.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of proper documentation, systems, and processes to deliver efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support the Finance Manager with the resourcing process from updating system resource forecasts to ensuring the team are up to date on timesheet completion.
Experience & background:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a commercial or financial discipline, or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a commercial or financial focused role.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to review others and their own work.
- Problem solving and analytical skills for understanding and resolving commercial issues.
- Interpersonal skills to prepare reports and build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Proficiency across the Microsoft suite of applications with desirable experience of Power BI or other data analytics software.
- May have experience in contractual management and understanding of commercial considerations.
- Competencies include Planning and Organising, Problem Solving and Analytical Thinking, Technology and Process, Verbal Communication, Written Communication.
