Your Impact:

As a Business Development Intern supporting Arena, you will identify high-potential prospects within our target markets and engage with those accounts using business-to-business sales strategies. You’ll collaborate with a seasoned sales team to develop outreach plans and drive engagement across Arena’s commercial sales organization. Your efforts will help grow pipeline and revenue for Arena’s cloud-based product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions.

Your Team:

Arena, a PTC SaaS Business, provides cloud-native PLM and QMS solutions that help innovative companies manage product development and quality processes. The Arena commercial sales team is a dynamic group focused on driving revenue through consultative, business-to-business phone sales. This team manages the full sales cycle—from prospecting to close—while helping customers streamline product development and regulatory compliance.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
  • Identify and qualify new sales opportunities for Arena’s PLM and QMS solutions
  • Prospect into whitespace accounts and engage senior-level decision makers, positioning the value of cloud-native PLM for fast-paced product development environments
  • Consult with prospects to uncover business challenges and align Arena’s solutions to their needs
  • Research and understand the internal business processes of potential clients, especially in regulated industries like medical devices, electronics, and aerospace
  • Demonstrate the value of Arena through outreach activities (phone calls, email, LinkedIn, and other social platforms)
  • Advance opportunities through the sales cycle and prepare prospects for deeper engagement with Arena sales executives
  • Nurture early-stage leads until they are ready to be handed off to a sales executive
  • Maintain operational excellence by using tools like SalesLoft and Salesforce to track activity, update records, and manage follow-ups
  • Build key competencies that support your long-term career growth at PTC
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic understanding of business operations and SaaS sales principles
Preferred Experience:
  • Phone outreach and cold calling experience
  • Prior exposure to sales, telemarketing, or customer-facing roles

PTC carefully considers a wide variety of factors when determining compensation. The anticipated average hourly rate for this position is $32/hour.  This rate reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate's major, degree currently being pursued and location.
