Department/Group Overview:
The Technical Facilities Group consists of four segments: Integration, Operations, Design & Drafting and Logistics.
Collectively, this group is responsible for the design, installation and maintenance of all DSS managed properties and their critical systems as well as the tracking, protection and management of assets across all locations.
Job Summary:
A design and drafting engineer's role is largely based in documentation, organization, system design and communication. As the keepers of all technical system build databases and diagram archives, a strong aptitude for visual and technical design as well as file and data management is a requirement. Additionally, collaboration and communication with other teams plays a signification role in the efficient execution of new facility builds as well as day to day troubleshooting. Engineers have the opportunity to bring fresh ideas to workflows and departmental design approach.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
Information gathering for design builds
Design document generation (CAD, Visio, Microsoft Office, large scale prints)
Digital file organization and archiving (includes cloud based repositories)
Troubleshooting and archive retrieval
Distributing information to collaborating teams
Familiarization of company structure and protocols and training
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:
- Performs comfortably within Windows OS (Windows 10) environment
- Is familiar with AutoCAD / BricsCAD, Microsoft Visio / Lucidchart, Microsoft Office Suite
- 3+ years of work experience in broadcast or datacenter environment including integration experience.
- Education minimum: Bachelors degree in computer science or related field.
- Knowledge of on-air production environment systems and protocols.
- Technical and cabling system design and documentation experience
The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $109,500 to $146,800 per year, in San Francisco, CA is $114,500 to $153,500 per year, in Santa Monica, CA is $104,600 - $140,200 per year and in Seattle, WA is $109,500 - $146,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
