This is a hands on architecture role leading end to end design and delivery of complex healthcare systems, with direct technical ownership across AI enabled capabilities, Java/Spring services, enterprise integrations, and modern platform patterns. The role requires an architect who actively builds and reviews production grade solutions, mentors engineers through hands on guidance, and partners across product and engineering to deliver secure, interoperable, and scalable healthcare platforms.
If you are located in Minnesota, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead end to end architecture for complex healthcare systems, from early solutioning and design through delivery
- Develop AI enabled capabilities (LLMs, NLP, ML pipelines) with solid emphasis on safety, governance, and real world performance
- Build and review production grade Java/Spring services, APIs, and integrations; mentor engineers through hands on pairing and technical guidance
- Architect scalable Salesforce solutions, including data modeling, and API integrations with enterprise platforms
- Apply healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR/HL7) and ensure HIPAA compliant data handling across all components
- Partner with product, engineering, and platform teams to establish technical patterns, drive adoption of best practices, and improve system reliability
- Leverage enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline workflows, automate tasks, and drive continuous improvement

Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with solid architecture exposure and ability to work independently while expanding business and technology knowledge
- Hands-on expertise in Java/Spring Boot and modern API development, including REST, event driven integrations, and secure service design
- Demonstrated experience with AI/ML, including designing or integrating models, applying governance patterns, and working with modern ML tooling
- Healthcare domain experience, including familiarity with FHIR/HL7 interoperability and HIPAA/PHI aligned design patterns
- Proven ability to mentor, guide, and influence teams, answering complex technical questions and driving consistent engineering excellence
- Proven ability to design solutions across multiple product families and handle scope beyond a single product
- Proven solid communication skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and business functions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Solid experience in Salesforce platform architecture, preferably including API integrations, and platform governance
- Experience in cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization, and CI/CD integration as part of modern engineering patterns
- Experience influencing technology decisions, evaluating tools, and advocating for modern development practices
- Exposure to FHIR-driven data flows, enterprise data patterns, or payer/provider systems
- Prior work in scaled agile environments and solid understanding of solutioning, options analysis, and road mapping

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $112,700 to $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
