Mujin is currently seeking an Applications Engineering Manager with a strong background in robotics, automation, and engineering. This leader will manage and grow our North American Applications Engineering team while remaining close to the technology—overseeing project execution, mentoring team members, and ensuring the successful deployment of Mujin solutions.
This leader will become a subject matter expert on the Mujin Controller platform and champion its capabilities to partners and customers. The role balances leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on guidance.
Position Description:
- Provide technical leadership during system installation, commissioning, and debugging—robot arms, PLCs, grippers, conveyors, vision systems, pneumatics, and related equipment.
- Engage in pre- and post-sales activities to support partner technical development and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Support the design and development of robotics and automation solutions in collaboration with product and engineering teams.
- Utilize design software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion, or similar) to support implementation of solutions and review team deliverables.
- Maintain and demonstrate solutions in the Mujin showroom, test and debug new software, and provide structured feedback to R&D.
- Develop and deliver training programs for partners and internal teams, fostering a robust partner network.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Applications Engineers, providing technical guidance and professional growth opportunities.
- Oversee workload planning, project assignments, and resource allocation across multiple concurrent partner and customer engagements.
- Establish best practices for installation, commissioning, and support processes, ensuring consistency and high-quality execution.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering leadership to align team priorities with business objectives and partner needs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Applications team, incorporating field feedback into product development and process refinements.
- Collaborate with Product Management regarding features in development and customer requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering preferred) + 5 years of relevant experience (robotics and automation, including hands-on installation, commissioning, and debugging of robotics systems desired)
- 2+ years of people leadership experience
- Proficiency in robotics programming and high-level languages (C++, Java, Python).
- Ability to read electrical diagrams and experience with mechanical/electrical design software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion, or similar).
- Deep understanding of robotics software and the robotics systems lifecycle.
- Experience with logistics, warehousing operations
Physical Demands/ Work Environment:
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to work extended hours as required
