Job Summary:
The Applications Engineer is responsible for providing technical and commercial support to our Sales team with the goal of obtaining purchase orders for OE FLS pumps that meet our customers’ quality expectations and the gross margin expected by the FLS Operations team.
Responsibilities:
Process, manage, and lead each assigned quotation request in order to pursue, whenever possible, a purchase order with the support of our sales team.
Review and analyze RFQs for original FPD equipment and duplicate equipment.
Determine whether there are products in the FPD catalog that can perform the services required by each RFQ.
Generate hydraulic selections and define the scope of supply based on customer requirements.
Issue requests for quotation to purchasing suppliers, components, and accessories, as needed.
Negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive offers.
Analyze, together with product managers, tactical product support engineers, and/or engineering, the feasibility of equipment selection, when necessary.
Perform the initial review of contractual commercial terms, terms, and conditions of purchase and sale that accompany quotation requests.
Prepare advanced review requests for the Contracts (Legal) team.
Prepare Sales Approval Requests (SAP) with details of strategies and costs in accordance with corporate procedures.
Maintain constant communication with the sales team to receive relevant information that helps secure purchase orders and to be informed about the status of offers.
Contact and inform business unit stakeholders about project requirements.
Suggest and agree with the sales team on the most appropriate strategies for each case, in order to increase the likelihood of success in each quotation request received.
Send appropriate technical and commercial proposals for each quotation request within the deadline requested by customers/sales.
Record opportunities and follow up with sales in the Flowserve system.
Perform the initial review of purchase orders received from sales, so that, when appropriate, they can be entered into the process for the corresponding business units, or inform sales if there are reasons they cannot be accepted, request sales to review purchase orders with the customer, in order to insert a clean PO into the BU.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical) or 3+ years of experience with centrifugal pumps in similar roles.
At least 3 years of front-line commercial experience or comparable experience in sales/customer service.
Experience in planning, organizing, and completing Projects/Proposals on time with effective team collaboration.
Knowledge in pump solutions.
Excellent communication skills.
Knowledge of SAP and experience handling common MS Office applications.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced English.
Preferred Skills:
