Key Contributions- Design, build, and implement production-grade AI microservices (APIs, workers) that meet reliability, latency, and cost goals
- Take ownership of the retrieval pipeline - including ingestion, chunking, embeddings, indexing, and caching - and the evaluation process to monitor answer relevance, groundedness, and hallucination rate
- Implement strong observability (tracing, prompt/version tracking, token usage) and security practices (secrets management, PII handling)
- Work with product and AI prototype teams to run experiments and turn prototype code into production-quality systems
For Senior level: Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with PMs on scope and metrics
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Software Development or related fields
Must have:
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience using Python or Java
- Hands-on experience building LLM or agent-based applications, with solid knowledge of LLM/agent architectures
- Proven track record of shipping production microservices with FastAPI/Flask/Django, and experience with Docker, CI/CD, and testing frameworks
- Good written and verbal English communication is mandatory
Nice to have:
- Proficient with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure/AliCloud) and queues/caches (Redis/Celery)
- Familiarity with prompt/context management, function/tool calling, structured outputs, and LLM observability (tracing, version control, latency, cost)
- Experience with voice agents (ASR/TTS, streaming) or conversational BI (SQL generation, guardrails)
- Practical RAG expertise beyond basics, including chunking, hybrid semantic & BM25 retrievals, rerankers, ingestion pipelines, and metadata handling
- Effective use of AI coding tools such as Cursor, Copilot, or Claude
