What You’ll Do
- Ensure financial activity is captured in the general ledger and is in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles through adherence to MLT’s policies and procedures.
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice processing, vendor payments, reconciliations, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and deadlines.
- Work with the Finance team to establish and maintain adequate internal controls over financial reporting and improve efficiencies within the department.
- Oversee and manage the month-end close process, including monthly budget-to-actual and month-over-month variance analysis.
- Partner with the finance team to complete MLT’s financial statement audits and tax filings in accordance with issuance deadlines; provide guidance on and propose solutions for unique operating activities.
- Identify and implement process improvements and technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency and reporting capabilities.
- Support the Finance leadership with special projects as needed.
- Assess workload and track your efforts to support finance operations. Share insights with team leadership to promote load balancing within the department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Have
- Bachelor’s degree required. Accounting or finance coursework preferred.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of progressive experience in nonprofit organizations, including support of annual audits and preparation of federal Form 990 and supporting schedules.
- Experience in accounts payable with strong attention to detail, ability to manage high-volume transactions, and solid understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Quickbooks, Expensify, bill.com, google workspace
