Are you a highly motivated, results-oriented leader with a proven background in account strategy and large system sales? Ciena is seeking a dynamic professional to lead major business accounts, cultivate strong customer relationships, and drive growth while exceeding quarterly and annual targets. This is your chance to make a significant impact in a leadership role that values execution, strategy, and innovation.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Lead, devise, and execute sales strategies and account planning to achieve and exceed sales, booking, and margin quotas.
  • Build and implement account strategies that position Ciena to maximize revenue streams and margins in alignment with company goals.
  • Foster strong customer relationships at all levels, including executive leadership, to ensure customer intimacy and loyalty.
  • Analyze and prioritize sales opportunities while maintaining a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and regional market dynamics.
  • Oversee global sales and fulfillment processes and ensure seamless execution across activities.
  • Collaborate with Ciena’s extended teams, including executives, product marketing, management, and sales operations, to achieve objectives.
  • Maintain expertise in Ciena’s current and future product portfolio to drive impactful customer engagements.

The Must Haves:

  • A Business, Science, or Engineering degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in major account/global account management.
  • 10+ years of experience in system sales, system engineering, product management, or a combination thereof.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and executive communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and drive new business opportunities.
  • Expertise in strategic thinking and execution in large global account sales.

Nice to Haves:

  • MBA or advanced technical degree.
  • Professional services or software experience.
  • Deep understanding of L0-L3 network infrastructure, including hardware and software.
  • Experience with complex sales methodologies and market segmentation.
  • Strong awareness of global market intelligence, including competitor analysis.
  • Budgetary forecasting and planning expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive under high-pressure, short timescale environments while maintaining a methodical approach to problem-solving.
