About the Role

Are you passionate about digital accessibility and design? We're looking for a versatile accessibility specialist / subject matter expert to join our new Atlanta accessibility team. You'll contribute to the growth of the Workday Accessible experiences across our solutions. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives on learning about new technologies and working on fun and challenging projects. It's a hands-on, technically inclined role, where you'll be working with an amazing cross-functional team to understand customer needs, gather requirements, and then lead the overall process of taking accessible UX designs through to production.

The ideal candidate will :

  • have a user-centric focus on delivering the best products and services and have a passion for the opportunity to positively change how millions of people who use assistive technology interact with enterprise applications - making them more engaging, personalized, and inclusive.
  • have experience working with a variety of assistive technologies and relating WCAG requirements to broad audiences to win support.
  • be a fast learner, detail oriented, decisive, and enjoy a fast-paced work environment and an initiative taker, early adopter, and technology enthusiast, able to translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes.
  • be able to work closely with engineering teams to deliver features quickly and with optimal resources
  • be a collaborative teammate who uses positive leadership to coordinate and deliver results across teams
  • is ambitious and gets great pleasure from helping others understand, coordinate and address their challenges, embraces being the 'voice of the customer' during product development.


Responsibilities :

  • Organize and feedback from users of assistive technology to feed the strategic backlog in your product area.
  • Evaluate software for conformance to WCAG 2.1 criteria for desktop and native mobile applications.
  • Write detailed and inclusive product specifications, including UX mockups, and detailed user stories.
  • Work with partners in federal and state sales cycles to ensure alignment on Workday's accessible journey
  • Own the release plan and functional backlog for your product area, and align it with all stakeholders and dependencies.
  • Set and track metrics for your product area.
  • Engage directly with customers in both structured and unstructured settings and communication.
  • Provide mentoring and leadership to more junior team members.


About You

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in a related field
  • 3+ years professional experience in digital accessibility.
  • 2+ years experience with Accessible Web and Accessible Mobile technologies


Other Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of Accessible Web and Accessible Mobile technologies with an appetite for learning more
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to roll up sleeves to get things done
  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal - with the ability to deliver engaging presentations and demos to customers and partners
  • Passionate: about user experiences and accessible design and development.
  • Flexible: willingness to change direction, based on new information.
  • Organized: adept at product ownership, scrum, story creation.
  • Collaborative: coordinate large-scale projects and teams across Workday
  • Inspiring: communicate effectively with customers, partners and the market
  • Technical: work with engineers to navigate technical issues and solve complex accessibility challenges.
  • Effective: work with remote teams in various Workday locations to ensure goals are met.
  • You see product development as a team sport, and thrive in a highly collaborative, agile, continuous discovery and continuous delivery mentality.
