The Consumer and Media Insights (CMI) Operations team are responsible for ongoing delivery of survey data to clients. The Nielsen Consumer survey provides a 360 degree view of the consumer, and provides valuable insights to our clients on what people are buying, watching and doing.
The Operations team, based in Bangalore, are seeking an enthusiastic, permanent new team member to join the hard working, collaborative team.
Day to day, Operations Data Specialist plays an important role in impacting what data we provide to clients. They will work closely with key stakeholders in the Pacific survey process to ensure the data we provide is high quality, accurate and timely.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Our ideal candidate will have at least one of the following three skillsets:
- Questionnaire / Survey Design & Development
- Survey Programming & Field work management - Python, Java Script or XML
- Data analysis using SQL - Minimum 2 years
- Demonstrated experience (3+ years) analyzing large datasets in a fast-paced environment; Market research or related fields preferred
- Understanding of Survey methodologies including tracking studies
- Proficient in developing and executing complex SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation
- Experience in building data for the data processing tool
- Experience in data analysis and ability to provide insights
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet tight delivery deadlines
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, within a global company
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good organisational skills & the ability to juggle competing priorities
- Confidence liaising with internal stakeholders
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for data analytics and its application in problem-solving.

Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting technical data queries and assisting internal stakeholders
- Ability to identify, explain and resolve complex data errors or situations, investigation and resolution of data issues
- Develop a good understanding of our questionnaires
- Adherring to project timeframes ensuring all scheduled tasks are completed within the given timeline
- Ensuring that new elements and questions mature correctly in databases
- Implementation of database changes & requests
- Conducting data audits as per defined process
- Updating and maintenance of data entitlements within client databases
- Responsible for preparing and processing of data in a timely and quality driven manner
- Responsible for ensuring all Quality Control checks and analysis required by the Operations team are completed within the agreed timeframes and in accordance with documented procedures ensuring quality of data is maintained at all times
- Processing and delivery of databases for new clients or special requests
- Collaborate effectively with the Pacific production team on a daily basis to ensure a smooth data delivery to clients
- Contributing towards the quality delivery of data to clients, following appropriate procedures and approval in the given time
- Contribution towards process improvement and implementation
- Report daily tasks in the reporting software and to your team leader
- Coaching and training junior team members when required
- Work inclusively with your team and stakeholders
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of questionnaire design by providing insights and recommendations on structure, wording, and layout best practices.
- Collaborate with commercial stakeholders to ensure questionnaire submissions accurately reflect and meet client requirements.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of questionnaire modifications to guarantee accuracy and functionality.
- Develop and implement questionnaire changes using programming languages such as Python, Javascript, and XML.
- Manage and monitor fieldwork quotas to ensure target completion.
