Lisa Bertagnoli is an associate editor on Built In’s Expert Contributors team. During four decades as a journalist and writer, she has covered personal finance, business, arts and culture, philanthropy, health, and the restaurant industry. Her work has been published in the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Crain’s Chicago Business, Crain’s New York Business, AARP Bulletin and Chicago magazine. Before joining Built In in February of 2021, Lisa was a staff reporter at Crain’s Chicago Business, and prior to that, freelanced for 20 years. Lisa holds dual bachelors’ degrees in journalism and American history from the University of Missouri and a master’s degree in linguistics from Indiana University.
