Job Description
Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Solution Consultant who will be responsible for conducting pre-sale, business operational reviews and product evaluations of all applicable Ivans and Applied Systems' solutions in North America. Working under minimal supervision, the Solution Consultant position is the Sales division's resource for consulting, solution engineering, product demonstrations and proving the business value of the solution offering to carrier prospects and clients. The Solution Consulting department works closely with Sales and Services to recommend a solution offering and enable that offering to be effectively evaluated and delivered to carrier prospects and clients. The Solution Consulting department directly impacts sales bookings for the company. Current knowledge of the insurance industry and daily operations of insurance carriers, agencies, brokerages, MGA's, MGU's, and GA's.
What You'll Do
- Responsible for development and delivery of product demonstrations to position the value of Ivans and Applied Systems' solutions from a technical and business perspective to all levels of leadership and roles within an organization.
- Collaborates with the Sales team to discover and document strategic and functional goals of a prospect/client.
- Proves alignment with Ivans and Applied Systems' products and document how such changes will lower costs, increase profitability, or increase revenue.
- Develops, presents, or responds to proposals for specific prospect/client requirements, including request for proposal responses and prospect/client-facing documentation of discoveries and demonstrations.
- Coordinates product demonstrations, site visits and trial installations (if applicable) of products with prospects and clients.
- Collaborates with the Sales team on hand-offs to and engagements with the appropriate resources at the appropriate phase of the sale and documentation in place to ensure success in implementation. These resources include Integration Services, Infrastructure Services, Data Services, Enterprise Services, Education Services and Activation Services.
- Keeps informed on industry news and trends, products, services, competitors, relevant information about legacy, existing and emerging technologies and the latest product-line developments.
- Pursues a program of self-development using selected reading, seminars, and participation in continuing education.
What You'll Need to Succeed
We're looking for someone who:
- Can work remotely from home office in United States. Must be able to travel up to 50%.
Your experience should include some or all the following:
- 5+ years of insurance carrier and/or MGA experience or carrier SaaS sales equivalent.
- Must have a strong passion for driving business through a consultative method.
- Must be sincerely client focused and be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.
- Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding client base.
- Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally.
- Organized and analytical, able to eliminate obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches and deal well with ambiguity.
- Advanced ability to discourse using insurance industry terminology and discuss insurance-specific issues/needs of consumers.
- Ability to interpret and prioritize critical needs of a prospect/client.
- Ability to develop technical understanding of software architecture and capability.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, preferably in the insurance industry.
